Clear acrylic signs are cut from acrylic sheet, most often 1/8″ or 1/4″ thick depending on the application, thicker material for larger or higher-traffic signs, thinner where weight or cost is more of a factor.
Two finish options are available. Clear acrylic offers full transparency, a glass-like look without the weight or fragility of actual glass. Frosted acrylic has a soft, translucent finish, often used when a more subtle, private, or textured look is preferred over full transparency. Frosted acrylic requires additional processing once you go above 36″, worth factoring into your project timeline and material choice for larger installations.
Sizing runs up to 4′ x 8′ for larger applications, with standard requests typically falling in the 36″ x 46″ range and smaller, custom sizes available across the full range on request.
Most acrylic signs are installed using standoffs, hardware that mounts the sign a short distance off the wall, creating a clean, floating appearance that’s become the standard look for professional acrylic signage.
Common applications include wayfinding, directional signage, office identification, and lobby displays, most often found in corporate offices, medical facilities, retail spaces, and hospitality venues.

Acrylic signs often display close up, in a lobby, on an office door, along a hallway, so clean, sharp artwork matters more here than on signage meant to be seen from a distance.
Vector files, like AI, EPS, or PDF, print sharpest for text, logos, and any cut edges the design might call for. High-resolution images work too, as long as they’re built at full size from the start. If you designed in Canva, we can work with that too, just share the link with us instead of downloading it yourself.
Since standoff mounting typically involves visible mounting holes, let us know your preferred mounting pattern, or we’ll recommend standard spacing based on your sign size.
Don’t have a print-ready file? That’s fine. Upload what you have, logos, photos, an existing design, and we’ll build it into something that fits your space and looks professional. If you have any questions along the way, call, text, or email us.
Turnaround depends on size, finish, and current order volume. Frosted acrylic and larger sizes typically take a bit longer than standard clear acrylic. We’ll give you a real timeline once we know your specs.

Clear or frosted, standard size or custom, mounted with standoffs or flush, every acrylic sign decision changes how the finished piece actually looks and functions. We walk through those choices with you instead of just taking an order and hoping it fits.
A lot of people order acrylic signage the same way they’d order a yard sign, pick a size, send a logo, done. It works differently. Frosted looks completely different depending on lighting and viewing angle. Standoff spacing changes how the sign sits against the wall. Thickness affects whether it’s rigid enough to mount clean or whether it flexes at the edges over time. None of that shows up until the sign’s already hanging.
We ask about the space before we quote the sign. A medical office lobby has different lighting and traffic than a retail storefront window. What reads clean and professional in one setting can look wrong in another, and that’s not something you find out from a size chart.
We’d rather ask a few extra questions upfront than have you unhappy with a sign that’s already mounted on the wall. That’s the whole reason we walk through these decisions with you instead of just processing an order.

Yes, acrylic is significantly more impact-resistant than glass, and lighter, while still offering the same crystal-clear transparency.
Acrylic holds up well in various conditions, but it's most commonly used indoors for offices, lobbies, and wayfinding. Contact us to discuss outdoor applications.
